Anti Spam Measures

OUTLOOK or OUTLOOK EXPRESS Issues. 1st check your versions and make sure that your Outlook is a 2000 version or better and that Outlook Express is version 6 or better. Outlook Express is FREE and part of Internet Explorer, get your update from www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/default.asp

POP3 and SMTP Servers need to be set to mail.aic.co.uk OR mail.yourdomain.co.uk or .com etc. The account name and password as given to you by us.  PORTS used are default: 25 / 100.

To avoid falling foul of some Anti Spam filters please put a REPLY ADDRESS in the General settings Tab and always use a SUBJECT for you e-mail.

Dial-UP WITHOUT Domain Hosting: If you Host your Domain elsewhere and use us for Dial-Up or ADSL you will need to request a Spoof Domain (£5 nominal cost). This will allow you to send mail via our SMTP server. This measure is necessary to prevent unauthorised spam forwarding.

Domain Holders: Must only allow messages to be sent with a complete valid registered reply mail address.

Homepage Uploading for Domain Holders

Use an FTP program (i.e. FTP Navigator) to connect to the AIC-ENTANET ftp server.

You need to set FTP SERVER address as www.yourdomain.co.uk and login as "your username" with "your password"

You should now be in a folder with your username which is the public source folder containing Front Page Server Extension Folders, do NOT delete any that look like _vti_bin etc.

Copy you homepage to this folder, you may create as many sub folders as you wish.

Remember to name your start page "index.htm"

Also bare in mind that the Internet is case sensitive. Files with capital letters must be addressed with the capital letters included as capitals. If in doubt don't use capital letters.

Homepage Uploading for aic.co.uk Virtual address users

The address of your homepage used to be be http://www.aic.co.uk/~"your email name (the word before the @)"  This is NO Longer supported!

Now you have to request a Virtual Domain from us in advance. One you have done this and made the £5 nominal charge, you will be ready to make use of your web location.

If your e-mail was jbennet@aic.co.uk then your Virtual address will be www.jbennet.aic.co.uk

Registered Domain Hosted Users:

Webmail which allows you to view/delete/reply/create new message from any internet browser from anywhere in the world.

To access use www.yourdomain.co.uk/webmail/ (.com or other, if your domain is not a .co.uk address). Login name is the account name of the email account that you want to check. (If you have several accounts you will need to check them individually). Along with the account name you will also need to know your password for each account.

Control Panel, which allows you to add/remove or modify mail user names etc. To access use www.yourdomain.co.uk/controlpanel/ (.com or other, if your domain is not a .co.uk address)

Statistics For Your Web Traffic (This is an enhanced free service that other companies charge for) To access use www.yourdomain.co.uk/stats (.com or other, if your domain is not a .co.uk address).  Select the domain that lists stats and scroll down to see the useage information for your site.
